The new Recreation Centre has reduced our
parking to 10 stalls.
For over 50 years we had access to over 40 parking stalls and were assured by
Township Management that we would have adequate parking when the new recreation centre was built.
WE WERE LIED TO !!!
Township changed their plans AFTER our last consultation.
We are now left with 10 parking stalls (all on our existing property) and 0 shared parking stalls.
Township has only allocated 105 parking stalls for their whole complex. 500 seat arena,
swimming pool, water park (water slides, tidal pool, aqua play, etc.) fitness centre,
conference rooms, staffing, etc.
In reality, they need 300+ parking stalls.
(The existing Aldergrove arena has 115 parking stalls just for the ice rink)
We have been told that our customers will have to park on Fraser Hwy. There will be no parking available
as all of the recreation centre’s patrons will be parking on Fraser Hwy as well.
Without adequate parking, we will be forced to CLOSE.

HELP SAVE ALDER ALLEY
UPDATE: We met onsite with the Township Manager for Strategic Initiatives on Tuesday, April 11. He is working on our behalf to come up with some solutions for our parking issues including:- Sharing 6 (better than none) service stalls originally assigned to the rec centre (terms to be determined).- Offering township expertise to maximize the number of parking spaces within our existing parking lot.- Looking into a solution for the east access from Fraser Hwy.- Finding additional alternate parking options. The online petition will remain up and we encourage our patrons to sign it until we hear back regarding the Township’s solutions. We really hope this Township Manager is successful and can help save our bowling alley.
